Reviews
"James Ijames's outstanding transformation of Shakespeare's tragedy into a play about Black masculinity and queerness, both echoes Hamlet and finds a language beyond it . . . the effect is stunning, making the play a living text, moving between Hamlet, the story happening on the stage, and the world beyond the fourth wall." --Maya Phillips, The New York Times "A fresh and vital force." --Vinson Cunningham, New Yorker "A broad, buoyant comedy . . . James Ijames's riff on Hamlet is an unalloyed comedy pleasure." --Charles Isherwood, Wall Street Journal "Hamlet said it first: 'What a piece of work.'" --Helen Shaw, Vulture "Unabashedly entertaining . . . We need plays like Fat Ham." --Peter Marks, Washington Post, "Afunny, poignant play that deftly transposes Hamlet to a familybarbecue in the American South to grapple with questions of identity, kinship, responsibility, and honesty." --Pulitzer Prize Committee "James Ijames's outstanding transformation of Shakespeare's tragedy intoa play about Black masculinity and queerness, both echoes Hamlet andfinds a language beyond it...the effect is stunning, making the play aliving text, moving between Hamlet , the story happening on the stageand the world beyond the fourth wall." -- The New York Times " Fat Ham is brilliantly alive, a true tragicomedy (or a very, very funny tragedy) and an exuberantly metatheatrical dialogue with Shakespeare, America, and toxic masculinity, all at once." -- Exeunt "A fresh and vital force." -- New Yorker "Momentous and remarkable...a masterpiece." -- Theatermania

Package arrived from Skokie, IL to southeast Michigan in three days. Book was wrapped well in an large outer plastic mailing envelope and in a second large plastic mailing envelope inside . Book was in the condition described and even has the errata sheet insert. I had no problems with the seller, and I would buy from them again. Good sale.

Purchased on 08.26.2025 and rec'd as described on 09.02.2025 (after Labor Day holiday). Two text books were individually wrapped in plastic, wrapped together in another plastic baggie and then placed in a padded envelope. Very happy w/ the extra protection taken in shipping the text books. Thank you.
