Synopsis
In the famous paper of 1938, 'A Contribution to the Mathematical Theory of Big Game Hunting', written by Ralph Boas along with Frank Smithies, using the pseudonym H. W. O. Petard, Boas describes sixteen methods for hunting a lion. This marvelous collection of Boas memorabilia contains not only the original article, but also several additional articles, as late as 1985, giving many further methods. But once you are through with lion hunting, you can hunt through the remainder of the book to find numerous gems by and about this remarkable mathematician. Not only will you find his biography of Bourbaki along with a description of his feud with the French mathematician, but also you will find a lucid discussion of the mean value theorem. There are anecdotes Boas told about many famous mathematicians, along with a large collection of his mathematical verses. You will find mathematical articles like a proof of the fundamental theorem of algebra and pedagogical articles giving Boas' views on making mathematics intelligible.", In the famous paper of 1938, 'A Contribution to the Mathematical Theory of Big Game Hunting', written by Ralph Boas along with Frank Smithies, using the pseudonym H. AAAA++++ SELLER!!!! Book looks new. I've purchased from this seller before and they are awesome. Book was in better than described condition and the price was the best I could find anywhere. Shipping was very fast and book was nicely wrapped in a mylar envelope. My very highest recommendation for Half-Price-Books-Inc! I'll absolutely be buying from them again soon. Thank you-

Most importantly, the book condition was as specified. Many thanks for that. Also, the book was delivered quickly from the USA to the UK. The price was "okay" for a rare and out-of-print book. However, one small point of constructive criticism: the packaging could have been a little bit better, in order to better protect the book in transit. The book was sent in a plastic/light bubble mailer only. It would have benefited greatly from cardboard packaging. Thank you for considering my suggestion.

The item arrived in better condition than described. The book's appearance is at least very good condition. The packaging unfortunately had small holes in it. I live in an area that is prone to intense rain and those holes could have caused problems. The weather has been dry, fortunately. The price was a bargain! I'll work with this vendor again in the future. Please, get more protective bags.
