About this product
Product Information
Wings for the Game Boy Advance, from co-developers Raylight Studios and Crawfish Interactive, offers enhanced graphics and gameplay while staying true to the unique action sequences of Cinemaware's C64) original. Two full campaigns, consisting of over 100 missions each, span the duration of WWI and let players pilot a fighter plane for either the German or Allied Forces. Players begin the as a rookie pilot, but gain abilities in four skill areas (flying, shooting, mechanical aptitude, and stamina) by distributing skill points earned in battle.

Missions in Wings are divided into three major types -- bombing, strafing, and 3D dogfights -- and are preceded by detailed briefings that cover primary targets, secondary targets, and off-limit targets such as churches, hospitals, friendly troops, and so forth. Pilots who survive missions but fail to meet specific objectives may receive reprimands (three will result in a Dishonorable Discharge), but they'll become ace pilots if they succeed. Using multiple pilots (up to five can be saved per campaign) is key to success, and highly successful pilots may unlock secret missions, which can then result in unlocking ace pilots for use in multiplayer action.

Gallery mode in Wings offers players a chance to revisit unlocked missions using a default pilot with maximum skill points, or view authentic WWI posters earned during the campaigns. Up to four players can compete or join in cooperative battles against the AI using Game Boy Advance link cables in Battle Royale or Team Deathmatch modes. Balloon Battle, a variation of Team Deathmatch, allows competitive action without AI pilots.
