Grand Knights History is a role-playing game of fantasy medieval combat and strategic character customization. The story is set in a land beset by constant war, between three competing factions. Players choose a side and begin to gather a small troop of squires to train into powerful, specialized knights. Characters can be extensively customized in gender and appearance, as well as in their abilities and gear. The single-player battles and adventures provide aspirant knights with opportunities for training in a range of character classes and specializations. <br><br>Battles play out in a back-and-forth style. Parties face off on opposing sides of the screen, and each character can attack an enemy, heal an ally, or perform another action, in turn. Battle formations are an important factor, as the arrangement of characters may affect their ability to use special skills on different targets. Once they have raised and trained a proper order of knights, web-connected players can compete in MMO-style instanced battlegrounds that are continuously available, resetting on a regular cycle. Players can actively control their characters online, or let the computer play through the fight, even after they've logged off.
