The plastic screen is gloss black (opaque) if anyone is curious but it works great for covering up all the wires above the headlight and "cleaning" up the look of the front end without adding bulk like the silly fairings or oversized Windshields often do. The top of the shield is maybe 1-2" higher than the gauge cluster. I am unsure of whether it'll help cut down wind or not.
