About this product

Product Information

A poignant and powerful story about how one woman's best intentions lead to the worst of situations, and how love helps her to heal and ultimately triumph. From the outside looking in, Lauren Delaney has a life to envy--a successful career, a solid marriage to a prominent surgeon and two beautiful daughters who are off to good colleges. But on her twenty-fourth wedding anniversary Lauren makes a decision that will change everything. Lauren won't pretend things are perfect anymore. She defies the controlling husband who has privately mistreated her throughout their marriage and files for divorce. And as she starts her new life, she meets a kindred spirit--a man who is also struggling with the decision to end his unhappy marriage. But Lauren's husband wants his "perfect" life back and his actions are shocking. Facing an uncertain future, Lauren discovers an inner strength she didn't know she had as she fights for the love and happiness she deserves.

Reviews
"Brimming with insight, tender sensuality, sympathetic characters, and family anxiety, this story blends painful realities with healing love in a strong, uplifting tale that will lure both women's fiction and romance fans."-Library Journal, starred review, on The View from Alameda Island "This is well-crafted women's fiction, where the emotional journey is paramount, and the satisfying focus on Lauren's innermost feelings and thoughts does not disappoint."-BookTrib on The View from Alameda Island "The summer flies by as old wounds are healed, new alliances are formed, and lives are changed forever... With strong relationship dynamics, juicy secrets, and a heartwarming ending, it's a blissful beach read." --Kirkus Reviews on The Summer That Made Us "A layered, well-paced plot and flawed, three-dimensional characters whom readers will care about make this a quick and entertaining read for those who relish contemporary family sagas with strong female characters as well as readers who like their stories tinged with romance." -Library Journal on The Life She Wants "A satisfying reinvention story that handles painful issues with a light and uplifting touch." -Kirkus Reviews on The Life She Wants "This novel of sisters and secrets has a pleasant setting, a leisurely pace, and a sweet story line...that will please fans of Carr's Virgin River series. Themes of responsibility, forgiveness, and the agony and ecstasy of female relatives will appeal to readers of Debbie Macomber and Susan Wiggs." -Booklist on THE SUMMER THAT MADE US "ANY DAY NOW is an enjoyable read that showcases Carr's exceptional storytelling abilities and her keen eye for detail... This is a perfect feel-good read to curl up in a chair with while visiting for the first time or revisiting the folks of Sullivan's Crossing." --RT Book Reviews

The estimated time of arrival was changed. It was originally purchased on April 28 and shipped the following day on April 29 (not May 6 ... that was changed later for some reason). Anyway it arrived April 16, seventeen days after its "original" shipping date (April 29) and as advertised, is in "Brand New" condition. In the end, it arrived on time and I got what I asked for. Thank You. ✌️
