Measured by feeler gauge the gap is 13 thou,. To remove the gap, I had, where necessary, to use a 6mm drill to indent slightly the surface of the metal, rather a chore. Manufacture could be improved..

Previously I have used self tapping screws to attach the timber to the castings but off course stainless steel should look a lot better and won't rust. I need to repaint the timber and castings 'Willow' and gloss black respectfully so I am someway from sending a photograph.
