The text is easy to read and the illustrations are well-placed throughout. Tolkien originally wanted to have one book published, and this edition certainly does his iconic work justice. The red color and ring text on the side is a good touch.

The design of the book makes it unlike any other edition of LotR, so it is visually a stunning work of art, and the increased price of previous editions suggests it is also a savvy investment.

Some surface damage on the blue box, but that's to be expected from shipping considering how heavy the item was as a whole. very well packed with lots of cushioning. Would purchase from this seller again.
