Everything we sell on Ebay is checked and rechecked before shipping out. I personally tested this compass and it was working perfectly! Could the Item have been damaged during shipping? Did you keep the compass balanced horizontally? Did you turn the compass around until the printed North matched the marked indicator arm? There are many options you could have taken, and threwing it in the trash is not one of them.
