I had to press the bushings out of these shocks, and my old shocks and press the old shock bushings into these new ones! Item description clearly states:We have installed these on many Harley XG750/500 Street models,and you will have to remove the metal adapters (included for smaller shock mounts)in each eye. SO, on most bikes, you will HAVE TO pop out the included metal bushing/spacer to fit larger shock mounts. Run it without the dowel, or use your old one. I use a punch to knock out the metal dowel. maybe some wd-40 if it is really sticking.
