That old standby Uno is now available for the Nintendo Game Boy and Game Boy Color in a cartridge of the same name. Complete with three special cards not found in the "real life" version, you can choose from the Standard or Challenge modes of the game and play against up to three friends on your machine or against one with a Link Cable. There are three theme decks also included: Wild West, Space and Groovy. Each has special characters and animations.<br><br>Before you start, you'll need to choose the number of opponents (up to four) and their difficulty levels. Players who aren't controlled by a live gamer are taken by one of 12 different CPU players. You can also select between a normal pack of cards or one with the new special cards, which are Boomerang (Challenge Uno only), All Draw 2 (Standard Uno only) and Swap Hands (Link mode only).<br><br>The object of the game is to be the first player to reach a set number of points (anywhere between 100 and 2000), which you score when you're the first player to get rid of all the cards in your hand. You receive the point value of all the cards left in your opponents' hands. Each player gets seven cards to begin the game. The remainder of the deck is placed face down to form the draw pile and the top card is overturned.<br><br>The first player must match the card showing by number, color or symbol or draw another card. If you have a special card, you may play that instead. Special cards may force everyone else to draw two cards, cause the next player's turn to be skipped, change the color of the top discard card to any color the player chooses, and so forth.<br><br>If a player has only one card in their hand they must "call Uno" (done verbally in the real life card game but selected as a turn option in the electronic one); any player who fails to do so can be caught by another player, who will make them draw two more cards.<br><br>In Challenge Uno, each player has a pre-selected point total. When they reach it, they're out of the game. Play continues through as many hands as are needed until only two players are left; the one who reaches their point total loses.
