- This photo album contains a rare large collection of, photographs of primarily Cranbrook Academy during the years, 1931-1932. The album begins with the photo of a woman holding a, camera laid-in, who presumably is who took the photos and, created the album. It starts with 60 pages of approximately 300, photos of people and places such as the Detroit Institute of, Arts and travels to Midland City (fishing photos) , Louisville,, and other landmarks. The other 1/2 of the book is almost, exclusively photographs of and at Cranbrook consisting of, approximately 60 more pages containing about 300 photos. Some, of the photos are of people, perhaps other students and some, faculty, but at least half are of the grounds,, buildings/architecture, sculptures, interiors, including about, a dozen of Saarinen House and some of the furnishings. None of, the photos are souvenir photos but rather all taken by an, individual who appears to have been a student or faculty member, of Cranbrook at the time. This collection comes with an, additional smaller photo album containing and additional, approximately 50 photos some of which are also Cranbrook.
