    Item was defective, likely a refurbishment, but unlikely it was done by Google themselves, as it could not finish its setup, meaning it got bricked somewhere along the line or was simply damaged physically, but the latter wasn't evident, it seemed in fine condition. Seller suggested I contact Google, but since it couldn't even communicate with the network properly, he was basically suggesting I waste an hour or so of my own time confirming what he likely already knew was at least a possibility.
