The leather used in this product is supple and pliable. It is the perfect material for a rifle sling. The brass casting was a little rough at the edges; I spent 20 odd minutes with files and wet n dry and softened the edges, took away the rough cast edges and the super polished look. The leather isn’t roughed up as it passes through the buckle anymore. A heavy coat of leather protection oil darkened the look of the leather and toned down the newness - made it look more period. I’m delighted now!
