The kit comes with 1) wing-nuts instead of basic nuts (as were on vehicle), and 2) two securing rods (these were essential in my case). The bracket itself has variable adjustment but despite this I could not get it to properly fit in position, as it obstructs the bodywork of the car. So I used the original bracket, though had to widen the holes for the securing rods with a drill.
