If you take power from the battery or fuse box you constantly feed power through the harness. The park lights are automatic when the vehicle turns on/off or gets power whenever you use the headlight switch. Only issue that I had was the fitment of the switch, it was slightly smaller. This is not due to faulty manufacturing but it seems to be for a different model with similar year. Be aware of this
