Steins;Gate is a visual novel in which a group of friends must deal with the consequences of accidentally inventing a form of time travel. The game takes place in Akihabara, Tokyo's epicenter of animé, gaming, and electronic culture, and stars a conspiracy theorist college student named Rintaro Okabe who discovered a way to send email messages into the past. The narrative is driven by calls and emails that come to Rintaro's phone, which players can choose to ignore or answer, but the choices they make can change the story and alter relationships with other characters.
