Notes
As a 4 piece outfit from Miami, The Glasses Otter serve as the antagonist in the technical metal/hardcore genre bender. An unintentional love 'em or hate 'em stigma has followed the band from their local involvment through their handful of tours. Their fast paced music mixes odd timing with fluid grooves using intricate and thoughtful guitar playing ala Botch layered with thick driving bass and backed by complex and intelligent drumming in the vein of Converge. Throw in vocals that range from somber speaking to, and more often, unstable relentless screaming and what you're left with is a metalcore villain. The Glasses Otter backs all of this up with an erratic live show that is both frightening and entertaining. Check out their new EP 'Asleep on the Carousel' available on Seven Trumpets Recordings.
