In a time when ancient Greek gods have forsaken their people, morality is nonexistent. As a result, the human race has given up the will to live. While pessimists run rampant through the countryside, there are those who remain optimistic, praying that a lone hero will descend from the skies and seek revenge on the heartless gods.<br><br>Their prayers have been answered.<br><br>Hercules: The Legendary Journeys chronicles the heroic deeds of Hercules and his companions through a third-person perspective and combining action and adventure elements. Although the namesake is branded the main protagonist, players are given a choice of two secondary characters including Iolaus and Serena. Whereas Iolaus is effective with bludgeoning staff attacks, Serena is a half-woman, half-deer archer. Individual characters have been given their own maneuvers, skills and combination attacks. While Hercules uses four elemental spells based on Fire, Water, Earth and Wind, Serena has been given a sniping ability.<br><br>Once the desired character has been selected, you'll meet up with Cheiron and endure a training mission designed for novice players and those unfamiliar with the controls. After the training has been completed, it's time to conquer the world and overthrow the uncaring gods. The road to redemption spans 12 worlds including the oceanic village of Porticus, the sprawling forest of Traycus, Mount Olympus, the Alpsius mountain range, and various paths.<br><br>Depending on the location, you'll encounter loot-hungry bandits, mythological satyrs, minotaurs and cycloptic giants. With RPG elements thrown in for extra measure, you can also interact with various townsfolk who will offer clues as to what you're supposed to be doing and about the surrounding terra firma. You'll also come across helpful items that replenish health, magical points and enhance weapons.<br><br>Developed by Player 1, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys makes use of standard features including analog controls, Rumble Pak compatibility, and the use of the Control Pak for saving game data. Will you silence the angry gods or die trying? The fate and well being of mankind is counting on you!
