About this product
Product Information
Up until now, racing fans have only seen Wave Race 64, Cruis'n USA and Mario Kart 64 appear on their 64-bit system. Multi-Racing Championship, a.k.a. MRC, represents the first third-party racing game to reach store shelves. Long-time Japanese developer Genki developed the game for release in Japan by Imagineer. Ocean picked up the U.S. and European publication rights.

Multi-Racing Championship lets one or two players choose from ten distinctly different vehicles and race on three tracks that feature on- and off-road terrain and branching paths. MRC contains five different play modes: Championship, Time Trial, Free Run, VS Race, and Match Race.

The Championship mode pits you against nine other computer cars. You have to finish in first to move onto the next course. The Time Trial feature takes the "ghost" feature from Mario Kart 64 to save a replica of your best race and time. Free Run mode lets you become acquainted with the courses without any time constraints and without any competition. The VS Race mode is a one-on-one race against a human player. Match Race, which is not selectable immediately, is a head-to-head nighttime race against a hidden computer opponent.

Multi-Racing Championship includes built-in EEPROM support to save your options and best times. The game saves the Championship and Match Race times together, but it saves the Time Trial times separate from those. MRC also makes use of the Rumble Pak to varying degrees.
