It’s in my display case now with a Springfield ‘03 carried by a Marine on Guadalcanal, Fred Shear. He worked with my Dad and gave it to me when I was just a kid. Apparently WWII vets were given a lot of leeway regarding items they could take home? Mr. Shear was wounded in an action and lay in the jungle 3 days and nights before he could be rescued. So I am privileged to have these items.
