"Injustice: Gods Among Us" is a fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios for the Xbox 360. With a release date that coordinated with the 2013 movie "Man of Steel," the game focuses heavily on the conflicts between the characters in the DC Universe and enables players to see heroes and villains face off against one another. The premise of the game is a series of matchups that pit the characters against each other with each one having unique skills, abilities, and combo moves. It is based on the combo system characteristic of NetherRealm Studios and developed with an emphasis on cinematic combat and supernatural abilities.The premise of the game is that The Joker successfully destroys Metropolis with a nuclear device, setting off a series of wars. The conflicts involve both heroes and villains who seek to either build on The Joker's destruction or undo it via exploration within alternate dimensions. Players work through this story in an extended campaign that serves as a story for them to enjoy and a tutorial for the multiplayer mode of the game. Players must make their way through the portion of the story that centers around each character. They systematically learn about all of their available moves, skills, and special abilities while defeating a series of opponents. Standard fighting setups are interspersed with mini-games to break up gameplay and help players master difficult moves or deadly techniques. The Xbox 360 version of "Injustice: Gods Among Us" is rated T for Teen for blood and mild swearing.Where "Injustice: Gods Among Us" shines is its multiplayer mode.
