Seller Notes: “Overall good antique condition but definitely best for restoration/ inspiration/collection/study. ... “Overall good antique condition but definitely best for restoration/ inspiration/collection/study. Scattered small stains and discolorations, small tears/holes. the material is generally strong to the touch (save a few specifically weak areas, keep reading) and does not show signs of dryness. The front of the dress is generally in really great shape no major notes. The back is where most of the staining is, as well at weakness/tearing at the shoulders, and large stained area at the back hip where the fabric has weakened and torn. To restore, you would probably need to replace this back panel of silk chiffon. The lining is in surprisingly excellent shape, has a grosgrain waistband (this is probably early 20s) and silk label "Jamison Pittsburgh PA". Overall very good for the nature and age of the piece. please examine photos closely, they are part of the description.”
