This fan went in my shop. So I'll run it til it drops. When fan starts up it turns backwards then changes direction slowly then speeds up to desired speed. Beautiful fan, just not great engineering. The fan blades are another issue. Wood warps and twist and is not balanced. Very interesting ceiling fan! Seller gave me a great purchase price. Thank you.
