I had to file the groove to get the string to slide through. Also requires predrilling holes. Also, the spring under the pedal makes an annoying clicking sound when it scrapes up against the wood, so I need to put some fabric at the spring ends to dampen the sound. But with some effort, it does work.

Far from wanting to get personal, apparently this seller still has a thing or two to learn on Ebay, so I would exercise a bit of caution if or when buying an item there.
