There were no signs of any real use. No scratches on barrel or glass. I then tested operation of the lens on my Canon R50 camera. It work well in both auto and manual modes. This EF lens does have a slower noisy focus motor. It is a part of this lens and didn't surprise me as I did research before purchase. Its fine with the use I have in mind for this equipment.
