Make sure that the Drobo has been factoy reset and that the network discover is set to Automatic before it is shipped. Spent hours trying to get this device to be discovered by my network as I didn't have a solution to connect directly to PC. Purchase the exact model you are trying to replace as firmware matters when trying to mount Drobo drives. 5n2 drives won't mount in a 5n or other Drobo as they all operate on different firmware. This device is completely useless for me since I owned a 5n2.
