It is moderately bright, but only with the brightness maxed out (anything under about 90% and the screen is fairly dark or just black). A CRT should not require max brightness to see anything. It could be a tired tube, or it could be bad capacitors (even the seller's photos show the vertical linearity issue). I hope I can repair it.
