This is a good product at a lower cost than retail sources. The hinge assembly is, in fact, solid brass. As noted in the description, the screws to attach it to the seat and ring are not provided. My one disappointment is that the two large machine screws for attaching the hinge to the toilet bowel are brass plated steel which wll corrode in short order as the ones replaced did. I'll be buying and installing solid brass ones. Otherwise, a good product delevered in a timely manner.
