No programming required. Every feature on this remote is functional. Awesome as well as surprising - to me - since this tv/dvd is going on 20 years old. Package arrived on time and as described but when trying to use I noticed half of the remote wasn’t working. At first I thought it was the batteries but when I switched them for a brand new pair the it still wasn’t working which lead me to believe it got damaged in shipping. Finally when I contacted the seller for help, he without hesitation sent me a new replacement at no cost. Amazing! And even better, the second one shipped faster than the first! Very happy custmer
