Perfect for creating a line from a laser beam. The fan-angle changes dramatically with beam diameter. A tight DPSS beam will only fan out 30° or so, but a fat diode beam will be more like 90°. I used some 3M mounting tape to affix the lens to a threaded "star-cap", to hold the lens onto my lasers. It works well, and the mounting tape blocks stray reflections. Optically the lens is perfect, the line is super crisp and bright.
