The external antenna requires a modification to the board (change a zero ohm resistor position) to use but the modules come set up from the factory to use the on board antenna so to be clear this is not a complaint!

To make anything useful you must first program the board, perhaps follow this guide: lastminuteengineers com getting-started-with-esp32-cam use board type "AI thinker" (it does not say that on the module). Picture quality as you'd expect for the price. DKJNA delivered as expected. Description doesnt say which ESP32 processir is in the can, or that you need to modify the board to use the antenna.

It does say that you can get different versions of the product of which I got one of the better versions which I was pleased with. Definitely will be using them again soon
