Before the mid-1990s, anyone could hop on a jet ski of their liking, and off they went. SeaDoo recognized the need for jet ski security, and created the DESS Ignition Key Cap & Floating Lanyard Tether. The SeaDoo Digitally Encoded Security System Key (DESS) on the yellow floating lanyard is equipped with a computer chip. It contains a unique numeric code that the owner connects to the DESS port on the jet ski in order to start and operate it.
