This internal hard drive supports applications for digital video recorders, high-performance computers and workstations, and gaming computers. It also provides robust capabilities for video editing and streaming, disk and data storage, and home media servers. The Hitachi 400 GB hard drive features an ATA interface, equivalent to 45 hours of HDTV broadcast, 40,000 average-length books, or 100,000 short, high-quality MP3 recordings. The ATA interface in the Hitachi Deskstar 7K400 HDS724040KLSA80 allows end users and storage vendors to provide an efficient data platform that exceeds the performance and functionality limits of standard parallel ATA units. A Rotational Vibration Safeguard is integrated into the internal hard drive, allowing the unit to maintain high drive performance even when in high-vibration environments or when installed in systems designed for multidrives. Other features of the Hitachi 400 GB hard drive include mechanical and management enhancements, a latching SATA connector, FDB acoustics, and a load ramp that protects data from corruption as devices are removed from the drive.
