I paid $8.40 to ship the item and the buyer only paid $7,98 to me for shipping - I lost 42¢. I agree shipping costs are too high, but I don't set USPS shipping rates and my flat rate shipping frequently penalizes me and benefits my buyers as was the case with this transaction..
