The model was delivered wrapped in shrink wrap-- which can cause damage to the paint of 100-year-old tinplate trains-- but in this case we got lucky and there wasn't much harm. It would perhaps be safer to wrap items like this in paper in the future. I'm very happy with my purchase and will be adding it to my layout soon!
