While fishing is a time-honored human tradition, it's obviously unsettling for the fish. Lured onto the hunter's hook with fake food and bait, the aquatic critters are getting frustrated. Because of the human sport, they live their lives in panic, wondering when the vile fishermen will strike again. Bass from around the globe have called for an upheaval--one in which the roles are reversed.<br><br>Their wish is granted!<br><br>Published by Simon & Schuster Interactive, Bass Avenger parodies traditional fishing games in that the hunter is a mean ol' bass tracking down dumb fishermen. There are multiple fishing locations on Lake Sitendrink and Lake Okaychokeme. Armed with your gut instincts and radar of sorts, you should locate the perfect trapping site (fishing hole) as soon as possible.<br><br>After reaching the desired location, it's then time to fish--for man! While fishing, you manage your lures and select those lures most appropriate such as a cheese and pepperoni pizza, a briefcase filled with money, male-oriented magazines, toilet paper, and women's undergarments.<br><br>Depending on the lure used, you'll catch one of three things: an obese fisherman, a scrawny dork, or nothing. The bigger the fisherman, the more points he's worth. Additionally, there is a loudspeaker that calls and attracts various fishermen. While it usually works, it has the potential of scaring the game away.<br><br>At the end of the day, the fishermen caught are attached to wooden planks hanging on your trophy wall; this is a great way to impress the other fish in the pond! Bass Avenger includes six different championship trophies, all of which are earned by amassing the most points on any given day. Additionally, there are saving and loading options and a high scores screen.<br><br>Saving in the game is done automatically. The interface is basic mouse point-and-click and you can hook up to six catches per game with an option to toss each one back or stuff it for your trophy room. Interested in a little role reversal? Then bait up and hook 'em as the Bass Avenger!
