Get ready for more realistic sniper action as City Interactive’s first-person shooter video game Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 returns to PlayStation 3. Step into your ghillie suit and choose from an arsenal of accurately re-created weapons to kill enemies and hit targets in a variety of locations. With the help of your spotter, you will move through diverse environments such as jungle, urban, and mountainous, to take your enemies down one at a time. To accurately hit their targets game players must take account of external conditions, such as wind direction, wind speed, and distance, all while regulating their breathing so they can make the best one shot kill with their sniper rifle. In some areas with low visibility, you have to wear thermal or night-vision goggles. Players can engage in multiplayer co-op takedowns, witness action scenes, and use a variety of stealth tactics. Ghost Warrior 2 for PS3 is an accomplished stealth shooter game, with realistic sniper physics, scaled-down difficulty, and a smarter enemy than what gamers encountered in the previous version of the game. The game is challenging without being too difficult, and most of your time during gameplay is spent as part of the three-part campaign. You play as the character Cole, a special ops sniper helping assault teams in real world hot zones that range from Nepal to the Philippines to Sarajevo. As Cole, you take part in a saga of revenge and betrayal that takes place in present time, then bounces back to 1993 to the war-ravaged former Yugoslavia, and finally wraps up in present time along the border between India and Nepal. A well-written and well-acted script gives Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 for PS3 a realistic action-movie vibe, and the authentic looking animations and visuals powered by CryEngine 3 are outstanding. Sound effects are excellent and do a great job of simulating real life battle scenes. You will hear the shouts of enemy voices, far-off weapon fire, and close up weapon noises, all creating a realistic atmosphere. The enemy AI in this game is cunning, and the bad guys respond to your fire by taking cover instead of mindlessly running around like in the previous game version. They hunker down to hide and peek out to see who’s shooting at them. Finally, they return fire appropriately or even rush your position, all of which makes gameplay feel very realistic. Gameplay in Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 for PS3 tends to be more focused on stealth, rather than shooting. This gives the game a more intense sniping approach, and you stay hidden for much of the time, with quick missions of silent knife kills or head shots. You feel like you’re actually creeping through the shadows, upping the tension as you move forward. You can clearly see when you’re under cover or visible during gameplay, so you don’t need to feel like a sitting duck. There are many options to hide, such as behind stone walls, or crawling under trains and trucks. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 features realistic shooting action with real life physics, which allows you to gauge shots and take aim in an easy, natural way almost like a real sniping pro. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is one of the best sniper video games on the market and gamers can enjoy many hours of realistic and challenging play action.
