"History of Mount Pleasant, SC" book arrived safely! I was surprised to learn that this book was produced by Christ Church Parish Preservation Society, Inc.! I mentioned that a gr gr grandfather, James C. Baxley, on my mother's side had fought for the 5th SC Cavalry CSA. His Co. E was commanded by Capt. Louis Augustus Whilden, of Christ Church Parish, Mount Pleasant whose father was Elias Whilden, one of the commissioners who laid out the the town on 1837. Thank you for this great resource!
