Developed by Yuke's, a company known for its big-time wrestling games, WWE: Day of Reckoning features a more intense, personalized role-playing style design than its predecessors on the Nintendo console. Though all the big heroes and villains of the WWE are here, single players create their own wrestler character, and work him or her up the amateur ranks before earning a chance to face off against the prime time heroes of the sport. Additional elements borrowed from WWE games built for other platforms include livelier ambiance away from the ring, a more cinematic presentation, and the chance to conduct fan-favorite "bra and panties" matches between the league's women wrestlers.
