Use your PS2 to get in touch with your animal instincts while you maneuver through Central Park Zoo and the busy streets of New York City. Then, travel to the dangerous island of Madagascar to continue the adventure. In the "Madagascar" video game for the PlayStation 2, fighting for your character's survival has never been so much fun. There are enemies and obstacles around every turn of the game, from beginning to end. In the main game, you can play as one of the hilarious star characters from the DreamWorks movie "Madagascar." There are four animals to choose from: Alex the Lion, Gloria the Hippo, Marty the Zebra, and Melman the Giraffe. The penguins also play a big role and are just as funny in the game as they are in the movie. Tackle the 11 action-packed chapters based on the movie that this PlayStation 2 game contains. Levels include King of New York, Marty's Escape, New York Street Chase, Penguin Mutiny, Mysterious Jungle, Save the Lemurs, Jungle Banquet, Coming of Age, Back to the Beach, Zebra to the Rescue, and Final Battle. Using your PS2 controller, you will have a blast building your characters' skills including Gloria's butt smash, Melman's helicopter spin, Alex's kicking, and Marty's long jump. The more you play this game on your PlayStation, the more skills your animals develop. You will also be able to play bonus mini-games and compete to rack up the highest score on your PlayStation. Three bonus chapter games include Tiki Golf, Lemur Rave, and Shuffleboard. In Tiki Golf, you can have up to six players competing on a silly mini-golf course. Lemur Rave involves lots of music and can be played by two players at a time. Shuffleboard is a laid-back, relaxing game that requires just the right finesse. In this chapter, you can play as some additional characters including Wilbur, Crocky, Louis, and Foosa. There are also two boards: the jungle board and the ice board. Health tokens, or "health tikis," can be collected in the games to restore a character's health. Once 10 tokens are collected, you earn an extra life, which helps you complete levels and move on to new chapters, locations, and adventures. You can replay levels to unlock additional, character-specific bonuses and cheats. You can also visit the Zoovenir shop where you can purchase various upgrades and mini-games for your PlayStation. All items cost coins you collect as you make your way through each level of the "Madagascar" game. You can purchase glasses for Marty, a crown for Alex, a bikini for Gloria, a clock to hang around Melman's neck, and more. If you enjoyed the "Madagascar" movie, you will love visiting Madagascar Island and becoming a character in this PS2 game. All the games are family friendly and loaded with action and adventure.
