Synopsis
Lively, stark and formidable, the imagery of Norse mythology storms through this classic collection. The fierce glory of Odin, Frigga, Heimdall and their fellow gods of Asgard shines here, with all the great adventures, from Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life, to the legends of Loki. And from the fabled Bifrost to the forging of Thor's hammer, each Viking legend is riven with a vitality that speaks to us still. Here you'll find out how Odin lost his eye, how Tyr lost his hand and read the terrible punishment meted out to Loki. Included too is the Sigurd Saga with its sleeping warrior maidens, treasures and glorious, heroic battles. This wonderful collection finishes with The Death of Balder, the Revenge of the Gods and, fittingly, Ragnarok. The latest title in Flame Tree's beautiful, comprehensive series of Gothic Fantasy titles, concentrates on the ancient, epic origins of modern fantasy., Lively, stark and formidable, the imagery of Norse mythology storms through this classic collection. - b***a (134)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseItems are great and as described. Books came wrapped in a whole bunch of plastic wrap and in a shipping bag, which was a little annoying versus using a box, but it all came with no damage, so I can't really complain. I'd definitly shop here again.Lot of 3 Jim Butcher Trade Paperbacks - Dresden Files - Turn Coat, Dead Beat... (#187193225418)
- a***g (577)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseThe book arrived less than a week after placing the order. A fantastic price for a 1st edition, 1st printing! The book was very securely packed, with a double or triple layer of plastic wrap around a double layer of bubble wrap. The listed condition was "Good," but I'm pretty sure it should have been graded higher. Both the cover and the dust jacket look great; not even any minor damage. I'll gladly come back in the future when looking for books! A+++
