It's got a hard plastic shaft connection which eventually broke, and the motor isn't very powerful. However, I was able to make frozen smoothies with it, but didn't realize it couldn't handle that for too long. So, why did I buy another one? Because this was a good deal , and I just need one to hold me over until I can research a better one. If you're just looking for a unit that can blend soft foods, this T.M. is quite good.
