This compilation features all three Jak and Daxter games that were originally released on the PlayStation 2. This set includes "Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy," "Jak II," and "Jak 3," and the games are identical to the original releases regarding gameplay and features. This trilogy was the first big hit Naughty Dog had and would lay the groundwork for what would come in future games. If you're a fan of Naughty Dog games like "Uncharted" and "The Last of Us," you'll love this series.The first game in the collection is "Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy," which introduces many of the concepts that play a huge role later in the series. In addition to the main characters, this title also introduces Light Eco, Dark Eco, and Power Cells. The game plays out like a typical 3-D platformer complete with tricky jumps and large boss battles. The game is split into stages, and once you finish one stage, you'll move to the next. "Jak II" represented a radical departure from the previous entry in the series. While Jak and Daxter returned, the overall story took on a much darker tone. Jak can now transform into a dark version of himself with his primary weapon now being a gun. The gameplay is more akin to an open-world title with drivable vehicles taking you from place to place. Rather than focusing on collecting specific items, the player takes missions to progress the story. The title won multiple Game of the Year awards in 2003 when it was released."Jak 3" follows in the footsteps of the previous game. This game is the biggest title in the collection with the world being twice as large as the previous title. This game provides players with new guns, new forms to transform into, and a variety of new vehicles. It also features Hero Mode, which lets you replay the title after beating it on a higher difficulty.Sony Computer Entertainment has made a few changes when porting this set of titles to the PlayStation Vita. All titles are remastered in high definition with character models sporting new detail. Every title in the franchise now has support for trophies as well. These trophies are all newly created for this set and will increase the replay value substantially. If you're a gamer who has previously played all three titles, it's worth replaying for this feature alone. The ESRB rating for this PS Vita collection ranges from E to T. The first title in the series is rated E for Everyone while the darker themes of the other two video games earned them a T for Teen rating. Take these games on the go as you enjoy hours of platforming fun with the zany characters and colorful world. Each video game in this collection offers action-packed combat, driving, and puzzles to solve.
