- i***p (116)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseRoyal Engineer John Rouse Marriott Chard commanded approximately 150 British Soldiers against 4,000 Zulu Warriors at the Battle of Rorke's Drift fought in Natal Province, South Africa on January 22-23 1879. Under his steady leadership and bravery the British Soldiers prevailed against overwhelming odds and 11 Victoria Crosses were awarded and one went to Chard! An excellent quality W. Britian as usual! Proud to have this W. Britian representing him!
