Star Wars: Dark Forces puts you into the Star Wars universe as a mercenary named Kyle Katarn, employed by the Rebel Alliance. Control Katarn from a first-person perspective as you journey through 3D levels featuring indoor and outdoor environments. You're able to run, jump, duck, and look up or down. <br><br>While missions vary in purpose, your overall objective requires the investigation (and eventual destruction) of deadly new Imperial soldiers called "Dark Troopers." Your adventure takes you to underground mines, sludge-filled sewers, arctic installations, deserted cities, scum-filled space ports, and aboard Imperial spacecraft.<br><br>Opponents include Stormtroopers, Probe Droids, deadly gun turrets, axe-wielding Gamorrean guards, sewer-dwelling Dianogas, the bounty hunter Boba Fett, and the Dark Troopers themselves. Your arsenal varies from a simple blaster to a heavy-duty mortar gun, and you must collect power-ups, keys and other special items to survive each mission and progress to the next.<br><br>The 14 missions are completed in a linear manner, with your assistant Jan Ors providing valuable assistance along the way. There is no "quick-save" option, so missions must be restarted from the beginning once your lives expire.
