While better than some micro-USB units (looking at you Lezyne Zecto Drive Max 250), next gen please use USB-C, OK?. Speaking of charging, 1 LED is illuminated when first plugged. in, 2 when fully charged. But they're too bright indoors. And changing flash speeds is of limited utility.
