Rudolf Firkusny was a once-famous Moravian-American pianist who is now largely forgotten. These recordings are mainly from the 1950s and 1960s. While the sound quality is largely acceptable, several of the interpretations are sublime and standard setting, particularly Dvorak's piano concerto and Janacek's piano works. I also enjoyed Firkusny's interpretations of Beethoven and Brahms in this set of 10 CDs. Highly recommended.
