On the original BMW bushes, the slit is at the bottom, which allows them to seat correctly in the bracket. On these, the slit is on the side, which causes the bush to open up when fitting, making them almost impossible to install properly. After wasting time struggling with them, I ended up throwing them away and going back to standard bushes instead.
