You control both children and adults in each household. Once your virtual family has moved into a house, choose a career path for your adults while the kids attend school. Building a variety of skills, such as charisma, cooking, and intelligence, helps your simulated family members succeed at work and earn promotions. Spend your characters' hard-earned Simoleons on new objects for their homes and expand their walls for more living space. During live mode, you determine all of your characters' daily actions relating to their basic needs, recreation, socialization, and skill-building. Just like real life, your little Sims will reach important milestones like finding a job, marrying that special someone, and having children. Choose from a variety of career tracks, each with its own unique set of skill requirements for financial stability. Maintain healthy levels of hygiene, energy, and appetite satisfaction to prevent mood swings and to ensure successful endeavors.All the games in the series offer access to downloadable content and cheats to enhance your game play. Additional downloads are available through the game and include skins, user-created submissions, decorative objects, and must-have articles for your virtual creations. These PC games run independently of each other, so it is not necessary to obtain The Sims 2 or any other version to enjoy playing the original. However, these other versions of the game will offer you additional gameplay options and enhancements that will allow you to create an even larger Sims universe. Published by Electronic Arts, The Sims is the first game in The Sims series. After installing the base game, which only requires 350 megabytes of storage space, you're ready to start exploring the full universe. While this disk includes the full version, you can also install additional Sims 1 expansion packs for more content. Released in 2000, The Sims supports 32-bit versions of Windows 95 and higher.
